Reducing Dropout Rates: RAMP Program Support for Apprentices
In the skilled trades industry, dropout rates among apprentices, particularly Black apprentices, have been a pressing concern. The high percentage of first-year dropouts, estimated at 47% in California, highlights the need for targeted support and intervention to ensure the success and retention of apprentices from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
To address this challenge, the Retention Apprentice Mentoring Program (RAMP) has been at the forefront of providing crucial mentorship, case management, and support services for apprentices. RAMP is a nonprofit initiative that aims to empower apprentices to not only complete their training but also to establish thriving, long-term careers in the trades.

By providing comprehensive resources and advocating for the success of all apprentices, RAMP is striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals pursuing careers in the trades.
